Question 1

Where does the contractor database come from?

Accepted Answer

Our contractor database is built from official Hawaii State records, primarily the Hawaii DCCA Professional & Vocational Licensing (PVL) database maintained by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

Question 2

How valid and accurate is the data?

Accepted Answer

The data is as accurate as the State of Hawaii's official licensing system. Licenses can change status at any time. We recommend always verifying directly with the DCCA PVL Search before hiring.

Question 3

How old is the data? Is this a live feed?

Accepted Answer

This is not a live feed. Our database is a snapshot of the DCCA licensing records taken at a specific point in time and periodically refreshed.

Question 4

What about the BBB rating?

Accepted Answer

Where available, we display the contractor's Better Business Bureau rating and accreditation status sourced from the BBB's public website. Not all contractors have a BBB profile.

Question 5

What are the contractor subscription tiers?

Accepted Answer

We offer five tiers: Free (free, 3 leads/mo), Starter ($149/mo, 15 leads/mo), Growth ($349/mo, 40 leads/mo), Pro ($749/mo, 100 leads/mo), Enterprise ($1499/mo, 250 leads/mo). Every plan includes a monthly allocation of exclusive leads.

Question 6

How do lead credits work?

Accepted Answer

Every plan includes a monthly allocation of exclusive leads. Each lead is sent to only one contractor — never shared. On the free plan unused credits reset each month; on paid plans they carry forward one month, then expire. Extra lead packs can be bought at any time.

Question 7

What makes Hawaii Contractor Pro different?

Accepted Answer

We're the first Hawaii-focused platform backed by verified DCCA-licensed contractors and real homeowners. We never sell the same lead twice, and every contractor is license-verified through official state records.

Question 8

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Go to Account Settings and use the Danger Zone at the bottom. Homeowners and contractors both have this option. Your profile and any listing are hidden the same day, an active plan is cancelled immediately with no refund, and you have 30 days to sign in and keep your account before everything is erased for good.

Question 9

What happens to my data when I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

After the 30-day window, we permanently erase your name, phone, photos, reviews you wrote, notifications, and sign-in access. Messages and quotes you exchanged stay in the other person's records with your details removed, so they keep their own history. We keep limited payment and legal records as described in our Privacy Policy.

Question 10

Can I remove my business listing but keep my account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the contractor dashboard Profile tab you can remove just the listing. That deletes the listing's photos, description, and contact details, cancels any paid plan with no refund, and keeps the business from reappearing when we import new state license data. Your login stays active. Removing a listing is permanent — contact us if you ever need it back.

Question 11

Do I get a refund if I cancel or delete?

Accepted Answer

No. We don't refund fees already paid or unused lead credits. Cancelling stops future charges and you keep access through the period you've paid for.

Question 12

What is Market Watch?

Accepted Answer

Market Watch is a weekly report in your contractor dashboard, included with the Growth and Pro plans. It shows your review ratings and newest reviews from public business listings, the businesses Google shows first for your trade and island, where you sit in local map results, and homes that recently sold on the islands you serve. Free and Starter accounts see the headline numbers and the top three comparable businesses. The figures come from public third-party sources, so treat them as a snapshot for guidance rather than verified data.
